"Decisions"

A Right Decision Brings Peace

Sometimes when we are running through our days because life is always rushing us we forget to maintain a level of peace within ourselves.  When we forget our commitments to the Lord and forget to follow the covenants that we have with Him, we then crack open the door and allow our home environment to become invaded with influences that at first seem harmless; but, in fact, those influences are a series of small things that we so easily brush off while our minds are preoccupied.

We excuse the small things because we are to busy right now to confront the offense, and since it is so small and innocent, it could not do any real harm. The next level comes along speeding through right past us and we think, “Oh that other thing didn’t bring any wrong into my home, my kids are okay; and after all it is completely healthy for them to have knowledge of things going on around them.  After all, it really is healthy for them to learn about some things, but then it goes beyond knowing because they have already begun to experiment.

We let that one just slide right in and gradually changes are taking place not just with our family, not just with our home environment, but now look at me I have changed the way I think by accepting influences that would have in the past turned my spiritual stomach.  The influences are evil, they are sly; they are embedding themselves around the minds of our families and strangling the life out of all the right that we had established.

Everyone is in danger when righteousness and Love do not dominate our thoughts and our homes.  Stay alert and keep the sword or Truth in your mouth and in the forefront of your thinking.  Be bold and bounce that bad stuff right out the door. Do not forget that the first place to start is with “I” /  “me.”  Take yourself by the hand and say “Nothing in this world is more important and will never take the place of the spiritual well-being of me and my family!  Peace, the Perfect Peace of God, abides in my home; and I choose to live righteously before God and all mankind.”

You can do it because the Greater One lives on the inside of you.  Let the Peace of God fill you, your family, and your choices today and everyday; you are to abide on hallowed ground.

Decisions

As you become stable and fixed, being consistent in your beliefs, in your motives, in your life choices, be assured that the blessings of God will come on you and overtake you.

Deuteronomy 28:2  "And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God."

When you need to make a decision and you are pondering in your heart, make sure that it is your heart that you listen to.  You are a spirit and when you are born again you receive a new born-again spirit.  Your outer shell is flesh and there is a constant war between your flesh and your spirit.  Your flesh doesn't want to do what the spirit wants to do.

You, being a three-part being, have a part that breaks in and makes the decision for the choices in your life; this part is your soul, consisting of your mind, will and emotions.  Your soul is not born again, and it is not saved until you renew your mind by learning God's Word and listening to the Spirit of God.

As you learn God's word, you will learn the sound of His voice and know the promptings of the Spirit.  When you know His word and know His voice, you have the grand opportunity to be led by the Holy Spirit.  When you are led by the Holy Spirit then you are a son of God.

We are all growing and learning in our relationship with our Heavenly Father.  When you become a son of God, a mature child of God, you have proven yourself by being stable and fixed, consistent in your beliefs. Following the desire of your heart is following the desire of His heart.  When you have matured in your soul, you are able to make wise choices in following what you should do.

Have a blessed day filled with adventures in faith~~

Folk Melody from India

This folk song originated among the Garo Indians, one of the hill tribes in India. The Garo tribe lives in an area that is now the state of Meghalaya, but was until 1970 the state of Assam. The northern part of Meghalaya borders on the Himalayan Mountain range

The earliest appearance of the hymn in the United States seems to have been in Choice Light and Life, a 1950 publication of the Free Methodist Church (Winona Lake, Ind.), compiled by LeRoy M. Lowell. Other publications have followed.

The tune was named ASSAM in Christian Praise (Nashville, 1964), for the province of India where the Garos lived. We include this hymn to help individuals in making their decision "to follow Jesus" with "no turning back."

"If any one serves me, he must follow me;...... Hebrews 11:1-2
