A Heart Expanded by the Love of God...

Has the capacity to love unconditionally !

I have read and studied many different subjects, and the one subject that has the most promise is the subject of Love.  Christ taught about love and He is a living example of Love.  It is an honor to say “I want to have the Love of Christ dwelling in me richly.”

The scripture tells us that Christ loves the church so much that He gave Himself for her.  Christ gave Himself for the Church; our lives and the lives of our family are important.  We are to be, to live, to work, and to conduct ourselves as Jesus would.  The Bible teaches us many things about love, and the family is first and most important.  In I Timothy 3:2 we read that if we can’t take care of our family we should not be attempting to overextend ourselves doing any other work for God.  God wants us to be well balanced and able to rightfully take care of needs as they arise.

We learn also that husbands are commanded to dwell with their wives with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.  We are to be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love one another; be tenderhearted; be courteous.  We are not to return evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but we, on the contrary, blessing, knowing that you were called to this that you may inherit a blessing.  The scripture goes on to say that the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.  Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church.”

We should not just put on the brakes and stop there we should investigate all areas possible so we can give our wives and our children the love we are required to give them.   The last of that verse tells us that husbands are to give themselves for their wives.  Christ sanctifies and cleanses us, the church, with the washing of water by the word.  I believe a husband should speak words that bless, encourage and enrich the life of his wife.  Ephesians 5:28 says husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself by nourishing and cherishing her.  Each day our love is woven tightly, joining two lives into one.  The last verse of this chapter says that a husband should love his wife as himself and let the wife see that she respects (admires, values) her husband.  Proverbs 31:28 tells us that her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her.

Living a life of Love sounds good and is good. We must remember that we live in a society that makes it difficult for us to walk this path in our lives.  We are encouraged to bind together, join ourselves with like believers; and this will give us strength and encouragement.  The days are coming on the earth when we will all need to know we are sustained by and through the Love of Christ.  We as a family are together in unity being God’s hands, His feet, His arms; and with our mouths we speak words of life that enrich and give strength to one another.  The scriptures tell us to love one another that we are to know our brothers and sisters and love them, take care of them and allow them to help us in our time of need.

Today practice the love you have in your life, ponder the thoughts that have been shared.  Husbands are to love their wives, wives are to honor their husbands, parents are to love and bless their children with the principles of life that will train them to become disciples of Christ.  We are working together to bring the good work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the world and be a light that will shine and stand out.  The world is decaying, becoming darker; the church of God is becoming brighter, we are standing out.  Our lives witness the Love that Christ has for us.  Today let us  remember to be a Love witness to the world and live a life of Love toward our family.

“Father, I humbly come before you in the name of your dear Son and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I pray a blessing on each person that reads and hears the words you have for them.  I pray that as we partake of the words they will be as seeds and water so they may be harvested in due season.  I pray that we will be blessed to receive a full harvest that we may be a continual giver of your Word, as a brook flowing into a pond and a stream of life flowing out.  May our lives be to all those around us.  May your Word speak to each life; may the Holy Spirit of God breath life in us today."

In Jesus Name, Amen."
