God Bless America--Again!
It is God’s
desire and “good pleasure” to
bless America—the nation and the
individuals who make up the
nation. If it is His good
pleasure, what holds back the
blessings that God desires to
cover us?
The answer is
very simple and basic to the
favor of God on America.
“Therefore I say unto
you, Take no thought for your
life, what ye shall eat, or what
ye shall drink; nor yet for your
body, what ye shall put on. Is
not the life more than meat, and
the body than raiment?” (Matthew
6:25).
“But rather seek ye the
kingdom of God; and all these
things shall be added unto you”
(Luke 12:31).
“These things”
are the necessities of life that
all seek after: “what ye shall
eat…what ye shall drink…” and
other basic needs that everyone
works to acquire. Jesus said we
were not to spend all our time
and effort for our needs, but
seek His kingdom and His
righteousness FIRST; and He
would see that “these things”
would be available for us.
If we could get a
vision of God’s provision, we
would know that we lack nothing
that He cannot supply, in
abundance! Jesus said we should
not be “of doubtful mind” (Luke
12:29), because He wants us to
have a part in His kingdom now
and extending into eternity and
has made provisions for that.
“Fear not, little
flock, for it is your Father’s
good pleasure to give you the
kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
When we listen to
the news of our nation and the
world, we see want, deprivation,
war, greed, unethical
politicians and other things
that must grieve the Holy
Spirit. I wonder, does God
question why we choose to go our
own bumbling way, missing out on
the “these things” He wants to
make available to us? Surely it
is His great mercy that He
allows us to prosper anyway when
we don’t deserve it.
American is a
blessed nation, and it is not by
accident. In spite of those who
disregard the very fundamental
principles upon which America
was founded, God has showered
this nation with His blessings.
Perhaps He has prospered and
blessed us with a holy purpose.
If our leadership honored God as
He intended, we would be a
beacon of the Grace of God
shining throughout the world to
bring them into His kingdom.

Looking back in
Biblical history, that would
have been Israel’s fruit if they
had been steadfastly faithful to
God when He established that
little nation for His glory.
The rest of the world could have
observed how the faithful were
blessed when they served the God
of Heaven and discarded their
idols and become followers of
the only true God.
It seems that is
what God had in mind for America
also. Had we remained faithful
and sought the kingdom of God
first, had our leaders looked to
God for wisdom in guiding the
nation, had the citizens
followed Biblical principles set
forth by those in authority—can
you imagine what a beacon of
hope we would have been to the
rest of the world? Like Jericho
of old who feared the God of the
Israelites and were defeated
when Joshua marched around their
wall, our enemies would know
that God fought our battles and
would know we were protected by
Him.
Think of the
potential: God told
Abraham that as a result of his
obedience the whole world would
be blessed!
"And in thy seed
shall all the nations of the
earth be blessed: because thou
hast obeyed my voice" (Genesis
22:18)
Jesus didn't come
into the world to bring
salvation just to the chosen
nation Israel; He came "that the
world through Him might
be saved" (John 3:17).
Instead, we
drifted far away from the very
fundamentals that made us great
and successful while God was
putting the nation together for
His purpose. I can’t enumerate
all the ills of God’s nation;
but we learn from news reports
that in many national quarters
there is dishonesty and personal
greed which bleeds down to the
population. It appears that the
core principles established by
our forefathers have been set
aside and replaced, motivated by
man’s priorities rather than
God’s.
There is a
Biblical principal that God
first blesses His people to
bring them into obedience; then
when they abuse the blessings
and disregard Him, He sends
other means to bring them to
repentance.
Thank God that He
is merciful for the sake of the
minority who do look to Him for
their personal eternal salvation
and who do live godly lives in
this present world. However
that does not exonerate the
ungodly who will give account
for their deeds before a holy
and just God in due time.
What does God
require of us to be blessed as
individuals and as a nation?
“He hath shewed thee, O
man, what is good; and what doth
the Lord require of thee, but to
do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy
God?” (Micah 6:8)
I am not normally
a negative nor “doomsday”
person, but I fear that the
track American is on will lead
to devastation if we do not turn
around, back to the God who
caused this nation to come into
existence. He has a prior claim
on it! He had a special purpose
for its existence.

fought for, protected, and

children and our children's
children what it was once like
in the United States where men

When the
Declaration of Independence was
signed by the Continental
Congress on July 4, 1776 in
Philadelphia, it was not
intended that we be independent
from God.
Amendment 1
Congress shall
make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise
thereof……
Amendment 1 was
never meant for us to be free
FROM religion, rather that we
have freedom OF religion and
congress was not to prohibit
it.
There are voices
being heard today of those who
want to preserve our freedom and
install God in our affairs
again, and I submit this as one
more voice that we return to the
One who caused this nation to
exist for His glory and honor.
Only then can we be assured
that God will bless America!
